RIBA Stage 0 is fundamentally about setting the foundation for the project by understanding and defining its strategic objectives. During this initial stage, the projects feasibility is assessed, and the overarching vision and goals are established.

This stage is where ideas begin to take shape. Our talented team develops a range of design concepts, exploring various options to meet your brief. We focus on spatial arrangements, aesthetic considerations, and preliminary cost analysis.

During the technical design phase, we produce detailed drawings and specifications that enable construction. This includes architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings, as well as schedules for materials and finishes. Our meticulous attention to detail ensures that all elements of the design are accurately documented, allowing for smooth communication with contractors and suppliers. During this stage we also prepare tender documentation if required to obtain competitive quotes for the works. We review the tenders received and prepare a Tender Report.

As the project nears completion, we facilitate the handover process. This includes final inspections, snagging, and ensuring that all necessary documentation is provided. We also make sure everything is in place to dictate the operation and maintenance of the building, ensuring a smooth transition from construction to occupancy.

At the outset, we work closely with you to understand your vision, requirements, and constraints. This stage involves site surveys, feasibility studies, and initial budget estimates. Our goal is to create a clear project brief that aligns with your aspirations while considering technical, financial, and regulatory factors.

Once a preferred concept is chosen, we refine the design to integrate more detailed aspects. This includes structural layouts, building services, and materials. We collaborate with engineers and other consultants to ensure the feasibility and efficiency of the design. By the end of this stage, you will have a comprehensive design proposal that meets your requirements and can be used to apply for planning permission.

With the technical design complete, construction can commence. We produce the contract documents and act as Contract Administrator for the works. We would provide project management and oversight throughout this stage, coordinating with contractors to ensure that the building is constructed according to the design specifications. Regular site meetings/visits and quality checks are conducted to address any issues promptly and maintain progress and valuations are assessed and issued for payment.

Our commitment to your project extends beyond completion. In the in-use stage, we conduct post-occupancy evaluations to assess the performance and functionality of the building. We gather feedback to understand how the design meets your needs and identify any areas for improvement. This ongoing relationship helps us refine our approach and deliver even better results in future projects.
